Introductory Programme
Beginning Theology is the perfect place to start. This is an introductory programme in partnership with HTB Church that will help you gain a solid foundation in theology without the commitment of a full degree. It's flexible as we offer this course online (Tuesday evenings) and in-person (Thursday evenings). It's foundational in that we cover all the basic principles so that you leave the programme with a good understanding of theology and equipped to speak into your context. Our next Beginning Theology module runs from September to December.
Undergraduate Programmes
Our undergraduate programmes offer a broad range of modules that provide a strong theological foundation alongside reflection on key topics in theology, ministry and mission. Whether you want to gain a strong grounding in Christian theology through a one-year course in theological foundations or build on that foundation with a degree offering deeper and richer exploration of the Christian tradition, we have a pathway for you. All our undergraduate programmes are validated by Durham University.
Future Generations Training
Future Generations Training is designed for those who want to engage deeply with theology while exploring the challenges and opportunities of working with children and young people. This focused study route is ideal for those who plan to continue serving in children’s or youth ministry in a variety of contexts. We are also pleased to continue our partnership with the Church of England’s 30K Project, which provides funding to support 50% bursaries for eligible students in Church of England parishes. These bursaries are available for those studying the two-year Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission.
Postgraduate Programmes
When it comes to theology, the deepest rewards come from serious engagement with the Bible and key Christian figures and texts. The postgraduate programme is ideal for Theology or Religious study graduates looking to advance in higher research, or practising church leaders seeking deeper engagement with core Christian texts and themes. All our undergraduate programmes are validated by Durham University.
Ordination Training
We also specialise in training women and men for ordination in the Church of England. To train for ordination, any prospective student must have a recommendation for training from a Church of England Bishop. Both full-time and part-time programmes are available, combining academic excellence with practical experience, with a strong focus on the personal formation of each candidate for ordained ministry.
Centres
As a national college, we offer programmes across three locations: London, Plymouth in the South West, and Nottingham in the East Midlands, with part-time and full-time study options designed to support you in your context of life, work and ministry.
