The Revd Kate Wharton is Vicar of St. Bartholomew's Church in Roby, Liverpool, and a member of General Synod. In 2021 she was elected 'Prolocutor of the Lower House of the Convocation of York' (basically Chair of the House of Clergy in the north). She is the author of 'Single Minded: Being single and whole and living life to the full" and has also contributed chapters to 'Awesome Voices', '7 Reasons Your Church Needs More Men,' and 'Healthy Faith and the Coronavirus'. She regularly teaches sessions in college on subjects such as preaching/communication, singleness, and urban mission and ministry. She is a Trustee of Single Friendly Church. She is a volunteer with Safe Families, a charity which provides support, hope and belonging to families going through tough times. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her Godchildren, watching football (she is a lifelong supporter of non-league Southport FC), and fencing (the type with swords, not wooden posts).
