Youth Ministry Resource Hub Lead 10 - 18s

This role leads discipleship pathways for 10–18-year-olds across the diocese, supporting the Diocesan Strategy, while also helping coordinate and deliver youth ministry in St Stephen’s Parish.

 

Location: based at St Stephen’s Church, Tonbridge, with travel across the Diocese.
Reporting to: St Stephen’s Youth & Children’s Pastor (line manager) & Diocesan
Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) Team Lead Adviser (project outcomes)
Employment Term: 5 Years fixed term contract
Hours Worked: Full time, including evenings & weekends

MAIN DUTIES

Resource Hub (60%)

In collaboration with the Diocese CYPF Team supporting & equipping parishes across
the Diocese to grow sustainable, missional CYPF ministries with a specific focus on 10-
18 years. You will:

  • identify opportunities to develop CYPF ministry in up to three link parishes per
    year identified as part of the Resource Hub Missional Design
  • advise and support these parishes to build and develop intentional outreach,
    network and advice for CYPF Mission & Ministry
  • support parishes to build and equip CYPF ministry volunteers to reach and
    disciple young people
  • develop a strategy for mission and discipleship for young people aged 10-18
    with a specific focus on key transition points and listening to the voice of
    young people and their families
  • take key elements of learning from the pilot of growth and/or drop-off,
    implement change as necessary and share the pilot’s learning to support
    flourishing CYPF mission & ministry
  • be a strategic voice for children, young people and family ministers within
    local and diocesan networks
  • provide quarterly and annual data on outcomes and indicators of project
    progress as required by the Diocese

St Stephen’s Parish (40%)
As a worshipping member of St Stephen’s, the successful candidate will support and
equip us in our Mission Priority to reach and disciple young people equipping them
as missional leaders.
You will:

  • Work with the staff team and key volunteer leaders to develop and
    implement the missional strategy for ministry with young people
  • grow and train St Stephen’s youth ministry team in their ministry practice and
    spiritual habits
  • pioneer innovative outreach and plant new worshipping communities within
    the parish
  • work with local schools, organisations and agencies to support young people
    and their families
