Children and Families’ Worker – Christ Church, Hackenthorpe

The Centenary Project is looking for a committed Christian to join their team who has experience in working with Children and Families to develop and co-ordinate the work in the life of the church and the wider community.

Hours: 20 hours per week

Salary: £14,286 (£25,000 FTE / £13.74 per hour)

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as a Children & Families’ Worker. We are looking for a committed Christian to join our team who has experience in working with Children and Families who will develop and co-ordinate the work in the life of the church and the wider community.

You will lead and grow a team of volunteers, build on the strong links with the local schools and be part of the Centenary Project Network.

General responsibilities: –

  1. To lead and grow a team of volunteers who will help to engage and nurture children and their families in the life of the church and wider community.
  2. To develop links with local families, building relationships and becoming a key person within the local community.
  3. To be a member of the Centenary Project Network.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract: 5 years fixed-term contract
